Ignoring the issues that arose from our previous trips to Tanzania, where the church leaders there were only after our money. This year myself, and my wife Heather decided to go back to Tanzania, but this time under the banner of the International Human Rights Commission, and we offered to go to the Moshi region of Tanzania, where we worked alongside our host Cosmas John Massawe, seen here below with Heather and myself.
There were others from Europe, 3 students that self funded there trip to work with Cosmas, and help him with the Climate Change programme that he was teaching in schools, and later the pupils were asked to assist us in planting saplings in and around their school, in ground that was basically hard dry earth.
Cosmas was also entering schools using the My Body Is My Body programme created by Chrissy Sykes to help teach children to help them from becoming victims of Child abuse.
Cosmas, Heather and myself are all members of the International Human rights Commission, Cosmas and I are also members of the Global Goodwill Ambassadors Foundation, which is how we first met.
As members of the GGAF, we were able to take advantage of their teaching programmes, and both my self and Cosmas are now qualified to teach the MBIMB programme, not only that but under the name of his own Zion Gates Foundation, he is now MBIMB Ambassador in Tanzania, and as for myself, I am now MBIMB Ambassador in Scotland. Using the courses available from GGAF, we have both trained up on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals - UN (SDG) 2030.
MY BODY IS MY BODY
Below are a few pictures of some of the pupils in the Moshi Region that we visited and taught the My Body Is My Body to.
The young lady in the middle picture, top row is Iulia (Julia but with an "I") She was born in Romania, but grew up in Germany. In the picture bottom row right, are all three of the European volunteers that helped during our time in Moshi.
Iulia, Laurie and Valula who both hail from France.
Climate Change Tree Planting Project
During our time in Moshi, we visited a few schools, sometimes more than once because of the number of saplings that
we had to plant. We also planted saplings out with any of the school grounds where it was felt essential to do so, as a measure of trying to reverse the current Climate changes. In turn this would help the ground to retain water, as and when it rained. It would also in due course once, fully grown, would give shade and shelter.
In August of this year, long after we had returned home, Cosmas' wife Agnes gave birth to a baby boy.
This is their child.
And finally from this year's trip to Tanzania, here we have a photograph of the three volunteers with Heather,
just a few hours before we left for Kilimanjaro Airport.
Laurie, Heather, Valulla and Iulia.
We will miss them all as they head off to new adventures, but we shall never forget the impact that they had on the projects, that Cosmas was involved with through his Zion Gate's Foundation.
